Today a colleague took his own life. He always had a smile on his face, and was just a nice, likeable guy. They found him in the parking lot of a church.
My heart breaks for him and his family.
It makes me see more clearly the brokenness around me. It makes realize how great is the HOPE that I know.
It makes me remember that HOPE is meant to be shared.
I pray that in the days to come I will have the eyes to see and the courage to speak words of hope to those hurting around me.
I know I am here for a reason, and it is for more than just me alone.
I am meant to be a light in a dark place.
“A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not squelch”. Isaiah 42:3.
“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness cannot overcome it.” John 1:5.
Lord have mercy, Christ have mercy, Lord have mercy. Wrap his family in your arms. Shower them with your love. Fill them with your peace. Be their comforter and the healer of their souls.
